Almanac 03:23
I hear your voice ringing against The window pane and pull the blanket tighter Around my tired hopes that the next footsteps Will be yours I think of all the times I should have touched your lips and hands But now it’s clear that I Didn’t love you enough then All my dreams and hopes And shadows and ghosts Are and ever will be For you We cannot promise forever Because we don’t know what it means And we don’t want to cheat our love It’s got its own time and seasons I hear your voice ringing against The window pane and pull the blanket tighter Around my tired hopes that the next footsteps Will be yours

Oh, Light 03:08
Oh, light, where shall I go when you are gone? What will my fantasies become? From twisted roots they grew Grasping high to reach for you. Oh, light, where shall I go when you are gone? Oh, love, what will I do when you leave me? Your heart is careless as the sea. Adrift on the empty blue I wish for winds that we once knew. Oh, love, what will I do when you leave me? Oh, time, what will you make of my disguise? Will I see through these very eyes? Sometimes when I see myself I swear I’m looking at someone else. Oh, time, what will you make of my disguise? Oh, Lord, when will you take me from this world? When will my spirit be unfurled? It’s been a long time since I could rest in innocence. Oh, Lord, when will you take me from this world?

One small prayer on one small night Can change the course of any life and Two small eyes can see the light From the singing moon, still, cold, and bright I have bent my ear to a thousand tunes But I’ve never heard a-one like the whisper of the moon Three small wishes of your own To dream about and guide you home and Four small words say it’s alright To close your eyes, “sweet dreams, sleep tight” I have bent my ear to a thousand tunes But I’ve never heard a-one like the whisper of the moon

Little Star 04:00
Little star You’re gonna shine bright and far And when life is very dark You’ll be shining, little star Little bird You’ll fly high above the world And string up the stars like they’re pearls Little bird Little dream Your eyes show me everything That I could ever hope to be Little dream Little one When every day is done I will promise you all my love And the moon and the sun, little one

L.T.F.D. 03:31
Lyrics: I don’t want to do anything Least of all with me Wait and see if the morning brings Less passivity All I can hear is the tick of the clock Until I can fall back asleep I want a long, tall, fantastic dream I don’t want to feel anything Least of all ennui If I just had a song to sing Well that’s almost all I need Staring the hours down With a gluttonous disdain I need a long, tall, fantastic dream I don’t want to know anything Keep my senses in chains We’ll just see what the weather brings And hope that it rains To water the dirt into mud And the mud into being My long, tall, fantastic dream

Sweet blue eyes, sweet dreams tonight Do not hold the day too tight Wish upon the brightest star You will find it’s not that far away Jack be nimble, Jack be true Flying like the angels do I’ll be here to welcome you Home Seas and skies of gray and blue Could not hold my hopes for you Until the stars fade from the skies You’ll dream behind those sweet blue eyes Jack be nimble, Jack be true Flying like the angels do I’ll be here to welcome you Home
7.
Rest your head Your worries are all gone And instead Only dreams belong Floating on a cloud You are held up as all your weight comes sinking down Your eyes and ears let go of all they’ve found Quiet sleep is all around

about

Thursday, February 28, 2013. As the sun goes down, 34 people take their seats on one side of the grand living room at AM Stereophonic studio, in the heart of Austin, Texas, on a hill above the sacred waters of Barton Springs. On the other side of the room, surrounded by microphones, audio cables, and paper stars hanging playfully from the ceiling, Erin Ivey joins the renowned Tosca String Quartet for a performance of original lullabies and lightly-dark fairy tales. As the evening unfolds, the energy of the audience is imprinted on the music and captured in the studio control room across the courtyard. This unique hybrid live/studio experience was not unlike the very first phonograph recordings - all together in one room, elbow to elbow and eye to eye.

It is a tribute to all involved that it worked so beautifully.
